About Us

Who We Are

Literacy and Evangelism, Ghana is a Non-Governmental/Non-Profit Organization registered in Ghana originally as Literacy and Evangelism Mission in 2009.

We re-registered and changed the name of the Organization in 2015 as Literacy and Evangelism-Ghana and added additional Directors. LE-GH is a Member Nation of Literacy and Evangelism International, Tulsa, USA (LEI, USA). LEI, established in 1967.

We develop Bible-content basicliteracy materials (called Primers)teach basic reading, writing and numeracy in local languages and conversational English.

WHAT WE DO - MISSION & OBJECTIVES

Our calling leads us to:

Develop Bible-content(called Primers)

We develop Bible-content basicliteracy materials (called Primers)teach basic reading, writing and numeracy in local languages and conversational English.

Train

We train Individuals, Church Leaders and Missionaries to use LE-GH materials to facilitate literacy Classes, Evangelism, Discipleship and Church Planting.

Provide motivation

We also Provide motivation to our teachers and learners through income generating skills development and providing a platform for them to improve on their lives. We do this through partnership with other NGOs and organizations.

Achievements

We have trained over 300 teachers, teaching others to read and write in Dangme, Ga, and other Ghanaian languages as well as English as a Second Language. We have also developed literacy material (Primer) in Gonja for the teaching and learning of the Gonja language.

This will be launched in the first quarter of 2017.
